Taigum Gardens Chinese Restaurant | Taigum, Brisbane
June 24, 2021Growing up in the North side of Brisbane, it was not everyday where you would find nearby asian restaurants open at anytime of the day or even at night. Taigum Gardens has always been a favourite of ours and Auntie has always been so welcoming everytime a diner comes into the restaurant.
Salt & Pepper Pork Ribs was well executed, thin batter and not too oily. It was served on a bed of cabbage with pan fried vegetables adding the extra crunch to the dish. The pork was still steaming hot when I bit into it, tender and the seasoned batter gave it that bit of saltiness that it needed.
Bean Curd & Vegetables was well portioned and it had quite a good amount of beancurd ratio to the vegetables. I have also tried another stir fried vegetable dish in oyster sauce of theirs and I enjoyed that too. The seasoning and the flavours were well balanced and again, not too oily.
Seafood deluxe on bird's nest was something I have never tried before whenever I dine here so we thought, why not? It was such a pretty dish and a unique one too, I have to say. There was an abundant portion of vegetables and seafood (fish, prawns, scallops etc) placed on top of what seemed liked a deep fried egg noodle shaped into a bowl. Underneath it all was some wonton crackers.
I thoroughly enjoyed this dish and would order it again. It reminded me of somewhat the Combination chow mein but served on a different 'fried noodles'.
