Corbett & Claude | Westfield Garden City, Upper Mount Gravatt, Brisbane
May 06, 2021Situated at the restaurant area of Westfield Garden City lies Corbett & Claude, another branch off their CBD location which I've also dined in at. It wasn't full with diners as we entered which was good as I usually prefer to avoid the crowds or during traffic rushes.
As we looked through the menu, we decided to order one pizza and one pasta. Since we weren't sure of their portions here, we thought that should be enough for dinner.
Spaghetti Marinara was a classic seafood pasta with a variety of different seafood such as mussels, prawns, clams, barramundi, all tossed in chilli and garlic and a napoli sauce. The dish itself was rather big so it can also be a good dish to share.
The Butcher, was an eye catcher and not just from the name but also the toppings. It had crumbled beef meatballs, sliced ham, crispy bacon, caramelised onion topped with barbeque sauce, all on a napoletana sauce based pizza dough. Oh, and let's not forget the fior di latte mozarella. Yum!
This was definitely like your meatlovers but not your takeaway or fast food version. Just one thing that annoyed me was that the toppings was all placed more around the middle of the pizza and not evenly spread out. I understand that you need a bit of space for the pizza dough edges but still, there was quite a bit of spacing between the edges and the toppings. I ended up fixing the toppings to make it more even when eating the slices.
Another thing was that, it wasn't fully sliced properly. So we had to cut it again with the knives on the table.
Definitely a nice place to hang out with family or friends and even for a date. With lots of drinks options too, their food menu is even more extensive.
*Please note this is a delayed post and as such, the menu may have changed since my visit to the establishment.
