With views of the Glass House Mountains, King Ludwigs offers an authentic Bavarian experience. After having lunch here, we decided to have afternoon tea.
King Ludwigs Apfelstrudel was served warm, cremeanglaise, vanilla ice cream & cream. The cremeanglaise was quite sweet, with the cream more on the runny side, but the apple strudel was filled with generous apple slices.
Wiener Schokoladen Kuchen was a Vienna chocolate cake, poppy seed, marzipan parfait & orange sauce. What I enjoyed from this dish most of all was that they actually served it with marzipan parfait, it's not everyday where I would find a restaurant that has marzipan, especially in parfait form.
The chocolate cake and poppy seed to be honest for me was a miss, it didn't taste as chocolatey as I thought it would. It was more of a vague chocolate and the poppy seed was just spread around. The chocolate soil added that extra crunch and the orange sauce was quite sweet in my personal opinion.
