With so many burger joints hitting up in Brisbane, no surprise there when Brisbane's burger chain hits the market and I've walked past it so many times during uni but never had the chance to try it.. Though I have tried their chips and sweet potato chips, but never had the time to sit down and try their burgers.. With 5 locations around, Fortitude Valley, QUT Gardens Point, QUT Kelvin Grove, UQ St Lucia and West End, they've hit the major spots for those tummy grumblers out there.. So decided to try it one day when he was back in town and made him come with me to uni, grabbed a bite at Burger Urge at UQ during my break..
Pappa Roti is a small eatery with only little variety on their menu.. More drinks than their food, ice cream displayed out front, but of course.. who goes to Pappa Roti without buying their signature bun.. Established in Malaysia in 2003 and have now successfully opened around Asia and since 2010, Australia..
The breakfast place that had everyone talking and it wasn't in New Farm or the city, or Paddington or the Gabba, it was in Milton.. Though I have found parking quite hard around here, I gave it a try when I met up with a few friends for brunch during my break off uni..
Fat Noodle, now occupying the previous Cafe 21.. Sadly no more 24 hours a week restaurant for this particular new asian restaurant.. Known as to be Luke Nguyen's restaurant, widely known for his TV Show on SBS and also his guest appearance in Masterchef Australia...
KU-O is one of the few Japanese restaurants located in Market Square, Sunnybank.. Opened its doors at the start of the year and decided to try it since we've tried the others.. Came here for lunch and it was practically empty, only 2 tables were taken whilst the others were empty.. Not sure if this is their daily outcome or maybe it was just not a good lunchtime day for them.. It was packed when it opened, I guess that's how all the restaurants would be when they've just opened anyway..
A revisit to New Shanghai with friends of mine who were ex-brisbaners that now lives in Sydney.. They both came here for the weekend and wanted to catch up with a few friends.. Met with them for lunch and went to New Shanghai in Queens Plaza in the city..
When this place opened up, it seemed as if it was such a close competition with the korean restaurant next to it.. Came here for lunch with a friend that came from Sydney that was having a conference in Brisbane.. Wara Wara offers lunch specials and so we tried them.. It's been awhile since I've been back here since my last encounter..
Suddenly felt like sushi one arvo, and instead of going to the usual, Chermside, decided to try out Aspley.. Interior was designed nicely and there's usually a queue at nights, so try and avoid it if you're not the type to wait.. I remember coming here at night and a huge line was infront so we ended up going somewhere else..
Gallery One with its unique interior designed, seats too.. Italian food, coffee or dessert, breakfast, lunch.. they have it all here... Came here for coffee and cakes one afternoon after lunch..
Mecca Bah, one of the best places to get Middle Eastern cuisine.. Located in Emporium in the valley, parking might be a hassle since there's limited parking available... Everyone knows the Emporium, filled with restaurants with different types of cuisines, turkish, spanish, mexican, japanese and even dessert places and so on.. Oh, don't forget the boutiques too, filled with wonderful designs and uniqueness..
Max Brenner.. some may say it's old news as there's now much more dessert places to go to that may or may not be better... Max Brenner is more busier and convenient in South Bank, yes.. I can agree.. But if you don't like the massive line up or maybe just want to avoid the usual massive line up in South Bank, then maybe you could try a different atmosphere... Portside is surrounded by delicious restaurants and especially, it's got a wharf.. (duhh..) which is pretty during the evening...
I am aware that Bistro One Eleven has just recently released a new menu.. and this might be a little late but these food that's in this post are from their old menu... Since I haven't had time to review them and had trouble locating these photos, I finally found them, and what the heck, I'll just post about them anyway, regardless their old or new menu.. So here it goes..
Owners Mal and Bec is best known for their My Kitchen Rules journey.. Lady Marmalade is located at the corner of Logan Rd and Cleveland Rd over at Stones Corner... Quite a little place and an awkward place to have a cafe there but it seemed homey despite the space.. It had a lot of antiques and seatings are mostly outdoor with various different tables and seats...
