The Coffee Club, Westfield Chermside, Chermside, Brisbane

January 10, 2013

Went to Westfield Chermside's The Coffee Club for lunch... Located in the older area of the shopping mall, in the middle of where their usual centre stage would be, well, behind it anyway... infront of the cinemas, infront of myer, that intersection area... easily spotted..

Bought three mains, first one that came out was the Lemon and Pepper Calamari.. Calamari Rings dusted with lemon and pepper, served with garnish salad and tartare sauce.. Portion was reasonable, I didn't really like the chips though as I thought it could have been crispier and the tartare sauce is always good with seafood...
The texture of the calamari batter is not thick nor too thin, however, the amount of lemon and pepper in the batter is sufficient which allows you to be able to taste both lemon and pepper with each bite of the calamari...

The Steak Sandwich; grilled steak, mixed lettuce, tomato, spanish onion, cheese and barbecue sauce on toast, served seasoned chips and garnish salad..
I do have to say that this sandwich is filling, with the cheese melting and oozing out of the steak, dripping over the steak and the tomato... Chips again, nothing special...
From top to bottom layer; toast, cheese, barbecue sauce, tomato and lettuce...
Chicken & Bacon club sandwich... Surprisingly, I didn't read that it was 'three-tiered club sandwich' so I was pretty surprised to see it being three-tiered...
Consists of Chicken breat, crispy bacon, mixed lettuce, tomato, spanish onion, cheese, caesar dressing in a three-tiered traditional club sandwich.. Served with seasoned chips and a garnish salad...
Yes, once you let go of the toothpick that holds the sandwich together, you'll start seeing it fall apart... I truthfully usually call these so-called 'spanish onions' just red onions... or maybe I'm just wrong...
Chicken breast seemed to be those dairy supermarket types but not too sure about that, bacon weren't as crispy as I thought it would be, caesar dressing was pretty strong and the three-tiered club sandwich is displayed below... Thin sliced breads and not those thick ones..
