Sushi Train, Chermside, Brisbane
July 31, 2011
Sushi Train at Chermside Shopping Centre.. Infront of the tavern and at the new area of chermside's food court.. Usually busy during lunch and dinner, but there are times where it's not as busy... Takeaway is also available for those who don't want to dine in..
"Okonomiyaki" which is Japanese pancake.. it is denser and served with 'katsuoboshi' and mayonnaise and chives.. It wasn't as good as I expected it to be so it was just alright..
The dish at the top is "Takoyaki" basically it is octopus balls as some might call it.. It is filled with diced octopus, tempura scraps, pickled ginger and green onion. I usually like these because it's a good snack.. They serve it with their takoyaki sauce and mayonnaise as well as 'katsuoboshi' which is shavings of dried bonito..
This was just their crunchy prawn roll ... served with their sauce as well on the side.. it was just normal.. nothing special..
Caviar around the rice ..
Udon.. They not only serve sushi in the sushi trains but also have some a-la-carte dishes which includes rice and noodle dishes.. This is their Udon.. I bought the Chicken Karaage Udon which consists of Udon served with sesame seed, seaweed and shallots. And at the side, the Chicken Karaage.
Have you realised when sometimes you do go to Japanese restaurants, they tend to have their tempura or katsu or karaage on top of the udon? and as you know the udon soup is usually hot, so the supposedly crispy tempura or katsu or karaage becomes not as crispy as it should be by the time you do eat it..
That's why that it's also a plus for me how they seperate their meat or seafood when it comes to their noodle dishes... In their rice dishes, they will put it on top, but it doesn't matter because the crispyness of the meat or seafood will just stay the same..
look at the crunchiness ... mmmmmmmmmmmmmm nomnomnom.. make sure when you do come by to chermside shopping centre, and feel like a hot warm soup and want to try something else than hanaichi or sushi sushi.. have lunch here or maybe even dinner.. prices are average again with the rice and noodle dishes..
